Rest In Peace__ my sweet little Foo-dog.
Rescued the summer of 1997_ born April 20th, 1996_
Returned to the Sacred world with the Lord_ November 25th, 2008.

[God spelled backwards is dog].

The Spirit of Fooy lives forever inside me...
The male Foo-dog spirit is the protector of joy and peace.
Fooy taught me how to read people and how
healthy living is with keeping good company.

Mr. Foo was my very special teacher... I have come to understand why the Chinese call the male foo-dog the 'flower of life'.

When Foodo was adopted his original name was Gordo but he did not like that name, if you said it his ears went back and his tail between his legs. I didn't like that reaction and needed to find him a new name and close the door on his past. I met a woman with a Pekingese and her dog could pass for a twin on mine; and she told me a story about the Foo-dog's of China. I was excited and ran home to talk to my new companion and when I said the words "Foo dog" he became so happy! His big beautiful tail wagged and he look at me with endearing eyes. So, I decided to name him fu-doe and dropped the 'g' from Foo-dog and spelled his name Foodo. He came running to me every time I said his new name making my baby Foodo very happy. Shortly after he got the nickname Fooy from my niece Julia and nephew Joey. He loved playing with the children and he would climb up the ladder on the slide in the park and slide down, and run in circles up and down to play with them in the park.

As Foodo started slowing down he adapted another nick-name, Mr. Foo. Our walks became a bit slower as we strolled along together in New York City, and  I often had to carry him home. The veterinarian's I took him too said she was slower because he was getting older, I didn't believe them and persisted for answers. Near his physical parting, I consulted with three different veterinarians trying to find an answer for his fatigue, but they failed to do a simple chest X-ray and I lost him due to congestive heart failure. Sad_, and devastating__, but this writing is about celebrating the life of Foodo.

Our walks were special,  and I always gave Foodo our time together to walk me, and
he took me for wonderful walks throughout Manhattan and in Central Park each day. He traveled with me too, and would take me on amazing walks in new places, I would have never done alone. He taught me to pause and wait, sit on the rocks in the park, a bench, or the steps, and enjoy nature of our surroundings together. A walk with Foo was a step away from the fast paced city life. He had a sixth sense, and seemed to know who the good people were and taught me about unconditional friendship and how trust must be earned.  I learned many lessons throughout the stages of our relationship, as we shared time in our physical world. Among one of the most precious lessons Mr. Foo taught me_, was how to become a guardian of my own happiness. ___ I was left with a lesson, and realized I needed to learn when to use my teeth and share a smile_, and when to bite back to defend what is right from wrong. So I will see where this lesson takes me.

After living with Fooy, I'm learning to listen to intuition. I learning to let go of  'false social belief systems' and learning how false social influence hurts people in life. I learned that giving others the benefit of the doubt is not a good ideaI learned, I need to listen to my intuition and trust in doubt, because doubt it is there for a reason. I learned that respect is earned over time, and genuine
Friendship is earned over time. Maintaining a livelihood is earned, everything that makes life better, easier, more comfortable, peaceful, healthy, wonderful, and happy... are all earned positions in life. It is not important to explain things, but it is important to share in goodness and keep the company of good people. Most important, try to make all decisions with the head and heart connected in alignment, because prosperity is gained when the heart and head are working together.

Thank you Mr. Foo, for sharing time with me for eleven years. Thank you, for the gift of companionship and your service in taking care of me. Thank you for looking after me and sharing in unconditional loyalty. Thank you for taking me out for walks and sharing the beauty of nature. I will always cherish our memories and how you loved to smell the flowers, yet never once lifted your leg on one. Thank you for showing me the way home when I got lost and taking care of me when I wasn't feeling well. Thank you for saving my life Fooy_, and protecting me from harm and making me laugh and sharing all the smiles. ___ Mr. Foo, you will forever be my hero and always be remembered as my sacred little boy-of-joy. I will always love you and cherish the wonderful memories. I am so grateful and very blessed to have you become a part of my life. Thank you.

Then came Baby Jia-Li, born October 8th, 2008

Jia-Li as a little puppy came to me as a gift on February 14, 2009
This is a picture of her first walk in Central Park South.
_ my little Celestial Spirit Dog.
Female Foo Dog according to Chinese legend represents lessons for the 'cycle of life' _
I am anticipating
 the teachings of Jia-Li...

Thank you Mr. Foo for sending me Jia-Li, the baby foo-girl the 'good and beautiful. I am holding Jia-Li close in my heart, just as I did with you Mr. Foo, and cherish her as the sweet little girl-of-joy. She helps to wipe the tears of sorrow, and reminds me that life is to be celebrated.  She warms my heart and brings me joy and makes me smile too. My little Jia-Li is so cute, she recognizes you in your photo Mr. Foo. She jumps up to talk to you __ as though she knows you. This little puppy has taken on your behaviors! I feel like your spirit might be teaching Jia-Li how to do your tricks. Is that you Mr. Foo?

About the Pekingese:
The Pekingese is of the Foo Dog family, t
hey were the sacred guardians of Buddhist temples in Asia. Legends and artifacts of the Foo Dog can be traced back into the Han Dynasty of China, from around 208 BC to about 221 AD. The Chinese word Fo means buddha. Buddha is not a god, to be buddha is a teacher about life, it means the "enlightened one"; i.e. he who achieves his 'aim'. The name Foo Dog originates from "Dog of Fo". The association between the Dog and Buddha holds great importance. The Foo dog is known as the celestial dog and happiness dog; the symbol of energy and value, representing peace and serenity. The Foo Dog protects goodness and defends the laws of virtue. The Foo Dog's represent the fighters against wrong-doers, dark entities, and demon spirits. Any person who dared to harm one of these Dogs was considered evil put to death.
